Camden is 5!!!
Camden loved both days of his birthday. No official gathering on his birthday (although Alene's mom stopped by), but he had his cake, presents, preschool, and tumbling to be happy with. The next day he had 15 of his friends join him at Lowe's Extreme Air Sports for a fun time jumping on the trampolines and in foam pits. This was news to me and thought maybe Alene knew he could do it, but I looked over as we were busy welcoming guests, Camden was loudly showing each newcomer how he could DO A FLIP into the foam pit! Apparently this was a new trick he discovered himself that day!
Alene let Camden pick out his cake by googling spiderman cakes and letting him look at all the options (she's a bit crazy if you ask me, but it turned out great!). Crazy thing that happened to fall on Camden's birthday was that Alene sewed through her finger. Ouch!!! She said it hurt a ton and throbbed for the next few days too.
Alene was inside watching the Olympics (probably not, but she did say to include the fact that she watched a bunch of Olympics over the past month). One thing to note is that Camden can now "pump" all by himself - really well!
Valentines day morning! Alene loves Holidays, so it was well decorated and attended by her majesty ;-), despite being up late the night before. She's having to stay up late most nights for Etsy orders, but we're trying our best to put a hard stop at 2am and keep ahead of orders such that staying up till 2am isn't required all that often (still happens, but not as pressured).
Many nights are like this. Tony likes me (or he just misses Leo).
The boys spent many a day out in the cold snow (so glad we have a back yard!) This was a day that was warmer though and they were digging trenches through the melting snow.
Camden is a little fish now. He's actually swimming now, not just "swimming" at swimming lessons.
Xan is coming along in his swim lessons too!
Alene does a great job keeping the kids entertained. They also REALLY love the craft making circle that Miga an Poppa made for them (a rotating lazy susan type of thing with little tins fasten to it to hold markers, crayons and scissors).

Alene got the boys excited for the Olympics by giving them coloring pages and olympic bingo and such. Camden cut out the rings all by himself and wanted to hang them on the TV.
I'm riding to work regularly and have adapted my hairstyle to match the three clumps that my helmet makes in my hair. With work we had "FedEx" days where we have 24 hours to "ship" something. My team joined me in making another incarnation of aWordGame. Pat Morrow was kind enough to stay till midnight or so (even though we had all agreed more or less to just stay till like 10pm), and Bressain Dinkelman stayed with me until 4am. I stayed the entire night, and in the end we got a working version of (what I now call) Word Duel ready to present at 10am Friday the 28th.
Alene made mini cupcakes and we bought cream puffs to have as "ice cream". I mistakenly called them cream puffs when I asked the kids how many they wanted. I learned better and started calling them what we intended them to be "spoonless ice cream". The kids took to them a bit better, but for the future, the kids didn't enjoy them as much as expected. Perhaps if they had been softer (out of freezer longer) it would have been more of a hit.
Going back to being crafty kids, Alene wanted to include that Camden did this (while Alene and I were elsewhere) all on this own. He created a growth chart, marked his & Xan's height, and wrote it on tape - all unsupervised (glad he stayed in the lines of the tape so well)!
