Mother's Day

Yesterday, as a pre-mother's day celebration and celebrate Ruth being in town before heading out to Malaysia, we had a BBQ at Jason's house and got to ride his go-kart. I (Kelv) enjoyed it very much and so did the boys.

Camden had a dance recital. It was to frozen so he LOVED it and had a great time! (Ruth came to watch)
Alene pushed Xan and Camden rode along for an 8 mile run/ride to the lake, and then to the swing along the river trail. Camden push through and they enjoyed the swing again!

Camden had a Mother's Day music performance during which he did AWESOME! Another mom even told Alene that her kid wasn't singing well so she just enjoyed watching Camden - who, after it was finished (everyone was supposed to but only Camden did) run and jumped in mommy's arms to tell her he loved her.
 Camden, Sesi and Ty.
 Mrs (Kami) Taylor and Camden.
The whole class! (minus one or two) Rihanna Hoover tragically died with a blinds string mishap which was very sad and emotional especially for Alene, but Camden asked many questions and we had the chance to talk about Plan of Salvation and safety and such. First experience with death for him really.
Etsy's been busy for Alene. She's appreciated my help cutting hat tops, both cardboard and fabric, and all sorts of other help. One night this past week we had a major power outage. We couldn't tell what it was from, but I had just left to make an 8:30 drop off run and by the time I was returning, I could see that the power was out for a major part of west and center provo because building and a major intersection were completely dark. It stayed dark until 10:30. Alene had to get stuff done or fall way behind, so we hooked up the extension cord to a converter jack that plugged into the cigarette lighter in the car and kept it running. Found out the iron is just way too much for that little amount of power, but most everything else seemed to work ok (the small iron, hot glue gun, and sewing machine). Phew! Tony has enjoyed the boxes too.
Another (earlier) trip to the swing - Camden did much better this time on his bike and was going faster than Alene could keep up with him.

Today on Mother's day, we gave mommy the gift of sleep (which she desperately needed) and Camden made a nice creative hair bow for Alene. She played "Mother tell me the stories..." very well as the kids and female primary leader sang and it sounded incredible - I was inches away from tears, it was way special. The boys seemed to do pretty well singing.

Camden apparently gave a very sweet prayer in primary which made Alene very proud.

Xan is getting much more adventurous outside and better at riding things including his trike. He'd want to and ask "which direction is straight?". He seems to have a short temper that flares at almost anything at times (like at inanimate objects he'll yell at, telling it that he didn't want it to do that). It's tough to manage at times because he's so often whining or screaming - one of the two. But, he is in general the very sweet and kind boy that he truly is - despite whatever phase he is going through. He's such a joy to have most of the time and we do love him all of the time.

Graduations and Anniversary

Jase's Graduation

Alene and boys joined up for dinner afterward at Blue Lemon up in Alpine then we met Milo (Jase and Brittni's dog) at Brittni's house - good times were had. Congrats to Jase. It has taken a very long time, but it certainly speaks to Jase's Christlike nature of taking care of other people's needs first.

2nd to last game and then last game:
Camden scored during the last game. He played very well. Many of the team definitely showed signs of getting tired and distracted by the warmer/hot temperature in the sun, so I was glad to have Camden and Abby (who doesn't normally step it up this well) be really good hustle-ers out there (Michael typically pretty good too). It was a fun season. Some games and practices definitely went better than others, but overall, a good, fun experience.

Brock graduated too:
Jeffrey B Stewart dropped his wallet in the parking lot of Joe's Cafe (a restaurant we didn't end up eating at after Borcky's graduation), and we thought we found him on facebook and looked like he was a student at Provo High - bad trail. Anyway, I ended up taking it with us and not being able to get to find the owner until just yesterday. Good kid, from Arkansas apparently, had his temple recommend in there as well as family file names to be done. From his ward and stake info I called his bishop, and it happened to be that they were in town still for a wedding so we got it back to him. He gave us some nice "custom flavor" suckers - which I think he said he "designed". Pretty cool.

Part of the hold up and putting off of returning it was that we went out of town that same day to make our anniversary trip up to Midway.

Apparently we don't have any pictures for the anniversary trip :-(. We're not very good at remembering to take them. No matter, it's a great resort we've been to a number of times (which was nice to go to a familiar place to have R&R). We chilled and played board games, swam and exercised and what not. 7 years! It's a long time! :-D We'll have many more anniversaries to look forward to. (from Alene: "Alene loves Kelv... a lot.") Alene's shop has been quite busy as of late with grad outfits (and the ties too), so getting a chance to break away was really nice/needed.
